DRIVE TO UDAIPUR
ABOUT 4 HOURS
This morning you will have an early
start to go to the magnificent Kumbhalgarh Fort. It is worth
getting there early to avoid other visitors and to explore
this dramatic citadel on foot, in the tranquillity of the
fresh morning air. The spectacular views across the Aravali
ranges is one of the most memorable in India, while the
thick battled sacred walls of Kumbhlagarh bear testament
to the wars of past eras and stretch as far as the eye can
see. The Fort itself was inhabited until the mid 20th century.
Continue on to Udaipur where you arrive in time for lunch
and an afternoon at leisure. (Lake Pichola water levels
are very low. It may be that we have to cancel the boat
trip due to these conditions). |

DELWARA
Delwara is a charming village located
in the Aravalli foothills only a short distance outside of
Udaipur. Perfectly located to enjoy the scenic splendour and
peacefulness of the countryside, but within easy access of
Udaipur city it manages to combine the best of both worlds.

DEVIGARH
Devi Garh is probably the most extravagant
and stylish restored palace in the whole of India. It is a
quite extraordinary celebration of contemporary Indian design
and craftsmanship set within a historic fort. Each of the
individually designed suites is over 700 square feet and offers
the luxury of air onditioning, cable TV, CD player, bath tub
and separate showers. The restaurant combines both Indian
and Continental cuisine and there is also the option of private
dining in your suite or set up on one of the hotels terraces
or in the gardens. |
