DRIVE TO AGRA ABOUT 5 HOURS You will visit the fabulous deserted city of Emperor Akbar at Fatehpur Sikri en route. AGRA Agra, home to the world famous Taj Mahal, unfortunately teems with hawkers and can be both noisy and dirty. However amidst this chaos is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. A first visit to north India is incomplete without a visit to Agra and all it has to offer. The Taj Mahal is traditionally viewed at both dusk and dawn to capture the magnificent light. As well as the Taj it is recommended to visit Agra Fort across the River Yamuna. The Taj Mahal is closed all day on Fridays, so this should be taken into account when planning an itinerary In the afternoon visit Agra Fort with its spectacular views across the River Yumana towards the Taj. Finally see the monument itself at sunset, a time when the golden light shimmers on the marble and jewel rich inlays. A time for reflection on the intricate craftsmanship and beauty before you. (The Taj is closed on Fridays).
