DRIVE TO NIMAJ ABOUT 2 HOURS
Today you will be driven to Nimaj
(approximately 5 hrs).
Nimaj is one of the most enchanting areas of western Rajasthan.
The lovely village lies next to the local reservoir and
working estate of Chhatra Sagar. It is the ideal place from
which to enjoy the ambience of rural India. From here go
birdwatching on the hundred year old reservoir or explore
further afield to sites of historic interest. Alternatively
relax in your pretty surroundings exploring by foot this
local agrarian region

Chhatra Sagar
is one of the most spectacular and well-run properties in
Rajasthan. This small tented camp is stunningly situated on
the dam
wall of a one hundred year old reservoir. Another world from
the hustle,
bustle and chaos of mainstream tourism in India, Nimaj is
rural India at
its most beautiful, peaceful and colourful. The original and
predominantly vegetarian food is prepared from ingredients
grown on the farm and the reservoir attracts a great variety
of wildlife. Evenings are spent
round the campfire savouring the gentle sounds of the Indian
night.
